I have a friend who is a professional yacht captain. He once told me an astonishingly identical sentiment expressed by his owners--"It seems to bother them if they see me enjoying their boat." Apparently, that sentiment is endemic to a type of boss-employee relationship, irrespective of the specific employment, but dependent mostly on the personality of the boss.
