But don't forget the new texts: Banana: The Fate of the Fruit that Changed the World by Dan Koeppel

It's a comprehensive international history, and an accurate update to Jenkins, though it doesn't gain the momentum that Jenkins does.

Also, there's...
Bananas!: How The United Fruit Company Shaped the World by Peter Chapman

As the title sounds, it's a popular analysis of corporate economic influence and manipulation. Oh, those are the same things.
